Jubilee 15th Belgrade Beer Fest visited more than 520,000 people. This festival has once again confirmed that it is the most visited in Southeast Europe and that the atmosphere at the festival attracts guests from all over the world, who enjoy together at Belgrade Ušće music concerts of world, regional and domestic music stars, this year we had 38 of them, and all of this has been seasoned with over 200 types of beer flavours.
During the five days of the festival, visitors enjoyedalmost fifty hours of superb and free program at two stages. Withinnew festival zones, visitors could try for the first time new beer tastes from around the world with new experiences, but also to taste beer from small craft breweries from the country and the region. The first regional competition in Beer Pong was held, and Belgrade Beer Fest hosted also the exhibitors from more than ten countries who came to the First International Souvenir Exchange.
We express special gratitude to the city of Belgrade, which co-organized the festival from the first edition. Cooperation with the leaders of Belgrade is excellent and through our mutual efforts we are doing everything in order to keep the things the festival is known for - free entrance, great music programand cosmopolitan atmosphere, which adorns Belgrade. The festival is extremely important for the city of Belgrade and for the state of Serbia, because during August the number of foreign and domestic tourists who come to Belgrade due to the festival is significantly increased. Foreign tourists in Belgrade, during the festival, usually spend an average of three days and spend about 90 euros a day, so the estimations are that this year thanks to Belgrade Beer Fest only through VAT around EUR 1.080.000 will be paid directly to the budget of the state of Serbia (VAT on the transport, hotel and hospitality services, etc.). When we add to this the money that will be spent on these services, which is a direct contribution to the economy of Belgrade and Serbia, Belgrade Beer Fest has generated an economic activity in total of 5.400.000 euros.
Without the support of the City, Beokom service and all utility companies, it would be almost impossible to realize the great logistical needs of the festival. Also, we owe a big thank you to the Ministry of Tourism, which recognizes the multiple benefits of the manifestation tourism.
We are proud of the festival visitors who entirely respected the security measures of the MUP of the Republic of Serbia, city and police services, so the festival went by in the best order and without a single incident. The Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia has done its job on a top level, and members of the Belgrade Police Administration have done everything to make the visitors feel safe.
Of course, we would also like to thank the commercial partners of the festival for their unselfish help to make Beer Fest look worldly-top quality production and great music program, all with free entrance.
This year, for the fifth time, free transportation was organized in Belgrade, and for the second time the campaign was organized from Novi Sad, Kragujevac and Niš. More than 50 thousand visitors were safely transported in this way. The action was realized within the socially responsible campaign "Guys, who is driving home?" organized by Heineken Serbia, the Agency for Traffic Safety and Belgrade Beer Fest. During the festival, there weren't anytraffic incidents, and the professional support and cooperation of members of the MUP of the Republic of Serbia certainly contributed to it.
The results of the socially responsible campaign "I choose to recycle", which was conducted for the ninth time, unambiguously showed that among the festival visitors there is a growing awareness of the importance of recycling, as well as of the environmental protection. Within this action, about half of a tone of recyclable cans has been collected, while the remaining quantities of material will be sorted out in recycling canters of Gradskačistoća.
In the end, but not least important, we would like to thank all the media who announced and reported from Beer Fest and thus gave an unremitting contribution to building a positive image of the most popular rock and roll festival in this part of Europe.
The image we sent to the world from Ušće during five festival days is an image of hospitable Belgrade and Serbia, eager to socialize and interact with the environment. This summer also, Belgrade Beer Fest has fully justified its long-established goals - socializing, tolerance and responsible consumption.
